Best Golf Courses in Fort Lauderdale

Golf is a wonderful sport. Aside from it being magnificent for the physique, it keeps the mind alert, and provides social interaction. With more than 40 golf courses to choose from, Fort Lauderdale is a hole-in-one choice for avid golfers and duffers. Here are some of my favorites:

Since 1926, the Fort Lauderdale Country Club has been wowing its members and their guests with “a lifestyle of the highest quality through the traditions of golf.” The club’s emphasis on care for its 300 acres of park-like setting, and its two 18-hole championship courses is evident. Featuring rolling hills, trees, and bunker configurations reminiscent of courses in the northeast, both full and well-maintained courses are meant to test a golfers’ abilities.

Neighboring Fort Lauderdale, The Club at Emerald Hills in Hollywood is a highly acclaimed course that challenges even the most seasoned golfers’ abilities. The host of numerous qualifiers, this course is beautifully maintained. With lush fairways, contoured bunkers, and a bevy of water hazards that showcase the ingenuity of designers Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge, this course is top-notch.

Offering terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every skill level, the Coral Ridge Country Club is a timeless masterpiece. Not one detail was overlooked within this prestigious course, which is dotted with meticulously maintained surroundings, undulating greens that are precisely bunkered, and well-groomed fairways.

North of Fort Lauderdale in Boca is Boca West Country Club. This prestigious course hosts helpful clinics, and a variety of golf tournaments throughout the year. Architects Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer, and Jim Fazio used their legendary talents to create four distinct golf courses, designed with strategically placed bunkers, rolling fairways winding through the natural Florida landscape, and putting greens that test every golfer’s touch.

Whether you live in Fort Lauderdale permanently or are here temporarily, you want to make a regular round of golf a top priority. That’s because Fort Lauderdale’s golf courses include options for players of all skill levels. And, don’t forget to turn to the Howland Group if you are looking for seasonal, extended-stay, or year-round housing options that overlook your favorite hole.  We always bring our “A” game to your home search!
